How does the KLIC-N-PRINT 3D printer work?

KLIC-N-PRINT 3D Details:

the KLIC-N-PRINT 3D uses an additive manufacturing process called Fused Filament Fabrication, allowing users to turn computer created 3D models into physical objects.

A program (typically referred to as a slicer), takes that 3D design and “slices” it into very thin layers, which is then translated into instructions that the printer understands.

There are different types of materials which can be used, such as PLA, ABS, nylon and more. These plastics are fed through the printer’s extruder which melts the plastic and squirts it out of the nozzle (kind of like a miniature glue gun). The printer extrudes layer on layer until the object is complete.

What are the advantages of the KLIC-N-PRINT 3D?

Time

From our own personal experiences, 3D printing has saved us a tremendous amount of time when developing a product. In the past, we would spend weeks (and sometimes months) developing simple parts for our products. The process would involve submitting drawings and then waiting weeks for a prototype to arrive. Adjustments would then be made, new drawings submitted, and more waiting for the next prototype. This would go on repeatedly for some products. With 3D printing, we can virtually go from drawing to physical prototype (or multiple prototypes) within hours. This is a HUGE advantage and makes the KLIC-N-PRINT 3D a worthwhile investment, in itself.

Cost

If you’ve ever looked into manufacturing anything, the cost of a single mold can be exponentially more than the KNP3D. And sometimes, that first mold just doesn’t cut it. If you have a project where you need to create several plastic parts, it would just not be viable to produce a mold. If going into mass-production, a mold is still the way to go, but for small / single runs, 3D printing reigns supreme.
